In collaboration with Economic Modeling Specialists Intl. (EMSI), CareerBuilder has released a list of the occupations with the highest projected career opportunities for 2015. The occupations are ranked based on the size of the gap between monthly online job postings and actual hires. Coming in third on the list is the registered nursing profession, with 122,922 average monthly unique job postings but only 103,804 average monthly hires. The list also indicates that available jobs in the registered nursing profession have increased by 5 percent over the past four years.

The College Network nursingTo compile the list, EMSI and CareerBuilder analyzed information from more than 90 state and national employment resources and observed the hiring trends for over 700 occupations from January 2013 to August 2014. Based on this analysis, EMSI and CareerBuilder determined that the demand for workers outweighs the supply of workers in roughly 70 professions. The list draws attention to talent deficits in 20 occupations—the top 10 that require a college degree and the top 10 that do not require a college degree.

If you're looking to make a career change in 2015, consider closing the employment gap in the registered nursing profession! The College Network (TCN) has educational programs that can get you there. TCN offers an LPN/LVN to RN associate's degree program and two nursing bachelor's degree programs (LPN to BSN and RN to BSN). To get more information on these programs, fill out this form.
